Operatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State division, have apprehended an individual for purportedly defrauding nine locals of over N9 million.
The 28-year-old suspect, Bless Johnson, faces charges of impersonation and deceitfully acquiring money from the public.
The Public Relations Officer for the state NSCDC, Nyako Baba, mentioned in a statement that the individual was reported to the NSCDC Divisional Office located in Mubi.
According to the PRO, ‘Following credible intelligence and coordinated efforts, officers located and apprehended Johnson on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Timbokum Village, Ganye Local Government Area.
‘Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused deceived at least nine victims, extracting several millions of naira by falsely guaranteeing political appointments, job offers, and assistance with international travel,’ he stated.
The NSCDC PRO elaborated that the funds were deposited into the suspect’s account by his victims.
‘Upon investigation, Johnson returned N1,120,000 to some of the victims,’ Baba stated.
He detailed that the suspect executed his scheme by gathering contact information of notable individuals and enticing victims with deceitful promises.
