Veteran journalist Kemi Olunloyo has once again ignited controversy after targeting Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, this time over her grandson’s growing Instagram popularity.
In a lengthy social media post, Olunloyo noted that Ojo’s grandson had amassed “100,000 followers in the past 24 hours.” While she appeared to congratulate the actress on the milestone, she criticized the idea of babies having Instagram accounts, insisting that “children should not be on Instagram unless they are recognized public figures.”
Olunloyo went further by threatening to mobilize her “flag team” to report the child’s account for allegedly violating the platform’s rules. She also linked the matter to the late singer Mohbad, accusing Ojo of obstructing justice in his case. “Mohbad can NEVER post on his own Instagram again. You dimmed his light by obstructing justice and being an accessory after the fact. He can’t post his music, his shows, etc.,” she wrote.
Concluding her statement, Olunloyo controversially drew parallels between the late Mohbad and Ojo’s grandson: “Remember Baby Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, your instant social media sensation grandson, will endure and experience everything Mohbad went through. God has ordained it. Amen.”
The remarks have since generated divided opinions online, with many condemning Olunloyo’s choice of words, while others viewed it as yet another episode in her long-standing feud with Iyabo Ojo.
