The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) authority has reported a tragic incident that resulted in at least four (4) fatalities on the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway under the Mabushi bridge.
The spokesperson for the Police Public Relations, Josephine Adeh, disclosed the unfortunate news through a statement released on Thursday. She detailed that the incident transpired when a grey Toyota Highlander, bearing the registration number ABJ 206 EC and operated by Emeka Ehekweme alongside his wife, was intercepted by three alleged troublemakers commonly referred to as agberos.
According to her account, the assailants forcefully entered the vehicle near the Berger Junction in Utako, triggering a struggle over the steering wheel.
She pointed out that the vehicle lost control, colliding with another parked Mazda before flipping into a bridge pillar.
“The driver of the Highlander, his wife, and two of the attackers were pronounced dead upon arrival at the National Hospital, whereas a third assailant is currently undergoing treatment. The Mazda’s driver, identified as Suleman Mohammed, did not suffer any serious injuries,” stated the PPRO.
She also mentioned that investigations into the details surrounding the incident are actively being conducted, emphasizing that further updates will be provided in due time.
