A Nigerian woman has ignited an online debate after ridiculing “broke men” in a social media post celebrating the one-year anniversary of her ₦600,000 Firman generator purchase.
Sharing her thoughts on Facebook, she emphasized the advantages of being with a wealthy man, contrasting them with the difficulties of dating someone financially struggling.
According to her, while poor men offer little, a rich partner ensures a life of comfort.

She wrote:
“This year marks one year since I bought my big Firman generator. My old one lasted five years, making it two generators in my house now.”
“Life is so much easier—I always have 25 liters of fuel, and I never lack power supply. This is what happens when you marry a rich man. Your life becomes easy. You won’t age or get wrinkles before your time.”
She continued:
“Poor men with rusty iron tools don’t even know what a generator is, let alone having ₦600,000 to buy a bigger one. They’re still living with their girlfriends in someone else’s house or in a hot room. They’ll keep struggling until they suffer the consequences.”
Her post quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions from social media users, with many sharing their opinions on her controversial remarks.
